This policy explains how GlideLingo (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the GlideLingo website and applications. GlideLingo does not sell personal information.
Information we collect
- Account information: your account identifier, first name, email address, profile image, and sign-in provider details supplied through Clerk or the provider you choose.
- Learning information: language choices, preferences, lesson activity, progress, answers, saved learning items, and content you submit to learning features.
- Speaking and tutor information: audio, transcripts, prompts, and limited learning context when you choose to use speaking or AI-assisted features.
- Subscription information: plan, purchase status, entitlement, renewal, and provider transaction identifiers. GlideLingo does not receive or store your full card number.
- Technical information: app version, device and operating-system details, request identifiers, diagnostic events, IP address, and security logs needed to operate and protect the service.
Google sign-in data
If you choose Google sign-in, GlideLingo receives the basic profile information you approve: your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile image. We use it only to authenticate you, create and secure your GlideLingo account, and display your account profile. GlideLingo does not request access to your Google Drive, Calendar, contacts, or Gmail, and does not use Google user data for advertising.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide sign-in, lessons, learning progress, practice, and account features;
- personalize learning to your selected language, level, and activity;
- process subscriptions and enforce access to paid features;
- operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve GlideLingo; and
- comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or misuse.
Service providers
We share only the information needed for providers to perform services for GlideLingo. Current providers may include Clerk for authentication, Google or Apple for sign-in, Google Cloud for hosting and storage, RevenueCat and Stripe for subscriptions and payment processing, Cloudflare for website delivery, and OpenAI for AI-assisted learning features. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
Storage and retention
Some learning information is stored locally on your device, and account-scoped information may be stored in our hosted systems. We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security and billing records, resolve disputes, or meet legal requirements. Short-lived billing-event identifiers are scheduled for deletion after 30 days to prevent duplicate processing, but cleanup and backup cycles may cause them to remain longer.
Your choices
You can stop Google access from your Google Account and manage an active subscription through the billing-management link in GlideLingo. To request access, correction, or deletion of account data, including help clearing locally stored learning data, email[email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some records may be retained where legally required.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
GlideLingo is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires a higher age to consent to data processing, a parent or guardian must provide any required permission. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as GlideLingo changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required. Questions can be sent to[email protected].
